Privacy Policy

This document, referred to as the "Privacy Policy" (hereinafter referred to as the "Policy"), outlines the terms governing the collection and utilization of Personal Information from Users (referred to as "You") by the Snow Forecast app (referred to as the "Provider") during the download, installation, and use of the mobile application and website.

1. Consent of the User

By downloading, installing, and using the Snow Forecast app, you voluntarily provide written consent for the processing of your Personal Information as specified in this Policy. This Policy constitutes an integral part of the Terms of Service.

2. Personal Information and Data Collection

2.1 Core Service Data: To deliver a forecast, the app sends your selected location to our server, which requests the forecast and calculates a snow chance for your device.

2.2 Data we store: The app does not require an account, but the service does store the following on our servers so we can send you forecasts and push notifications:

Your approximate location: city, state and country name.
Your latitude and longitude coordinates.
A random identifier generated by the app for your installation ("Device ID").
Your push notification token, used by Apple to deliver alerts to your device.
App version, device language, and time zone.
Your notification preferences and subscription status.

We do not ask for, and do not store, your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, or precise location history.

2.3 Subscription Data: For users who make in-app purchases or subscriptions, all transactions are processed and completed by Apple. We receive only a depersonalized confirmation of the transaction. We never see or store your card or payment details.

2.4 Support messages: If you contact us, we receive the message, your email address, your Device ID, app version, and the IP address the request came from.

2.5 Advertising data: In the iOS app, Google's advertising systems may collect your device advertising identifier and information about how you use the app in order to serve ads. We do not receive or store this advertising information ourselves.

3. Advertising

The iOS app is supported by advertising served by Google AdMob. Google and its advertising partners may use your device's advertising identifier, along with information about how you use the app, to deliver interest-based advertising. This information is collected and used by Google under its own privacy policy.

The website is free of advertising. We do not run AdSense on our web pages and we do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs such as Google Analytics, Firebase, Amplitude, or Facebook. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to anyone.

If you would prefer not to receive personalized ads, you can opt out at Google Ads Settings, or enable "Limit Ad Tracking" in your device's privacy settings.

4. Third-Party Services We Use

We use a small number of third-party services, and only for the purposes described here:

Apple Weather: All forecast data originates from Apple Weather, which provides the underlying hourly conditions.
Apple Push Notification service (APN): Used to deliver snow alerts to your device.
Google AdMob: Serves advertising in the iOS app. Google may use your device advertising identifier and app usage to personalise ads.
Telegram: Our operator receives basic operational messages on our private messaging channel, such as the city and country of a new app update, or a service error. We do not send your full device record to this channel.
Apple App Store: Processes subscription payments and receipts.

5. Purposes of Processing

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

To calculate and deliver snow forecasts for your selected location.
To send you the snow alerts you have chosen to receive.
To handle your support requests and replies.
To manage subscriptions and in-app purchase functionality.
To detect and fix service errors.

6. Children's Privacy

The Snow Forecast app is intended for users aged 16 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Data Retention

Your app record is kept only while you are actively using the app. If your record has not been updated in the last 30 days, it is automatically deleted from our database.

Location lookups used to generate a forecast are cached temporarily and purged within days. They are not linked to your Device ID.

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Because we keep no account, the fastest way to erase your data is to delete the app or uninstall it: no further updates are sent and your record is deleted automatically within 30 days.

8. Data Protection

The Provider stores and protects information against unauthorized access according to standard industry regulations. However, please be aware that no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure.

9. Amendments

The Provider may unilaterally amend this Policy at any time to reflect changes in legal requirements or app functionality. Users are advised to regularly check this page for the current version.
